Canadian Barge Returns home

The Barge Malik 1 being lifted on to the vessel MV Nordika Desgagnes
After its six month long voyage from Canada the lost barge Malik 1 was found off the coast of Mayo. After being rescued by the RNLI the owners of the barge contacted Mullock & Sons to assist in its return, a tug was contracted to tow the barge 8 hours from its temporary home in broadhaven bay to the waiting vessel MV Nordika Desgagnes (owned by the same company as the barge). Malik 1 will return to Canada on the deck of MV Nordika Desgagnes before being inspected and returned to service shunting cargo up into the arctic in the summer months.
